As you probably remember, the professional networking (no other way to describe it) plats Link went public in May under the symbol LNKD. Its IPO (initial public offering, or first release of shares in the stock market) was valued $45 per share. Later that day, LinkedIn shares were trading at $122.
LinkedIn closed at $94 per share, with a volume of 30 million shares. Not bad for a day’s work. (News article.)

En webbutvecklare sitter vid sin dator, dricka kaffe och skriva lite kod. Han vill göra en browser-baserade spel. Det enda sättet han kan göra detta är att använda Adobes Flash-plattformen för att göra en interaktiv film och bädda den i hans hemsida.
Han vill sätta en video på sin webbplats också. YouTube sounds like the name of a cheesy subway line, nothing more. Our developer has to make a Flash movie for that, alltför.

Jo jag insåg snart att en) detta fruktansvärt fula utseende förmodligen ont platsen och b) Jag hade lite tid på mina händer. Så jag skrev några nya koden för webbplatsen och här är vad jag fick:
Just a quick notice. I’m in the process of switching hosts for hathix.com, so starting tomorrow expect some downtime.
I have no idea how long the site will be down; some people have said only a few hours but I’ve read on some forums that it can take up to a week. Not exactly what I’d call helpful.
And after I switch hosts it’ll take me a little while to import some databases and other fun web management stuff, which might take another day.
To make it up to you there will be some goodies heading your way once the site’s back up.
As you might have noticed, the guys at Google have released (väl, not released, they’ve just publicly shown it for the first time; Chromebooks are coming out on June 15) Chromebooks, which are netbooks that run the Chrome OS.
More about the actual computers later; the interesting part about the computer is its operating system. Chrome OS is a completely web-based operating system; it’s nothing but Chrome, Google’s web browser. Det stämmer, the only application on the computer is Chrome.
